Fascinating video on how to decipher the 4000 year old Indus script! Rajesh Rao is enlisting modern computational techniques to read the Indus language, the key piece to understanding this ancient civilization. It is enlightening to see
how scripts could be studied through patterns without having any knowledge about the symbols. Would love comments on the ning page

Helping ENL students understand written text
- This article is all about how ESL students read texts and how we can help them to better understand what they read.
It's important to note that some reasons ENL students have difficulty understanding text is that it's too small or not copied well, or that the words are too difficult, or a lack of background knowledge. By having a better understanding of WHY students may have difficulty understanding and comprehending text we can better teach them.
Teaching ENL: Reading and Writing Strategies
- This website has some ideas from Scholastic on teaching ELL students using various types of activities to help them understand meaning as well.
~ This is site that could be used for ELLs that have a higher proficiency level of English. The site also allows you to put words in Spanish, French, German, Italian and Dutch!
