Resources and Links:
Activities to develop semantic knowledge - This website has a list of 15 different activities that ENL teachers can do to [[#|help]] our students develop semantic knowledge.
Internet Thesaurus: In this website you will find access to an on-line thesaurus. With it you can explore the relationship among words
Semantics Activities/Suggestions ~ This website gives suggestions on how to better develop semantic knowledge. Some of the activities sound really fun!
Grammar Games ~ Here is a page of ESL [[#|Educational Games]] that seem like they would work well in a classroom to practice Syntax and Pragmatics!

"The Danger of a Single Story" ~
"The single story creates stereotypes, and the problem with stereotypes is not that they are untrue, but that they are incomplete. They make one story become the only story." When teaching in an ENL classroom, it is KEY to not focus on the stereotypical definition of a culture. We must know our students as people. I would definitely recommend taking the time to watch it.

A simple choice of word can make the difference as words have power...words are power and your usage of the right word could be your power.
